KRISTEN ONTIVEROS

A large white circle with two black semi-circles at the top, resembling a simplified face without features.

I started renovating my home with zero experience and realized that was

A young woman with long wavy brown hair and glasses smiling, sitting with her hands between her legs, wearing a white t-shirt and pink pants, with tattoos on her arms.

Kind of the POint.

A scalloped pink background with maroon text listing personal food preferences about DIY projects, travel, desserts, and coffee.
Kristen Ontiveros with brown hair makes a playful expression, resting her chin on her hand, wearing a purple puffy jacket, with a white background and a wavy dark frame around her.
A family of four standing outdoors in a field during autumn, smiling and embracing each other. The man has long hair and a beard, holding a baby, while a woman and a young girl stand close beside him.
Kristen Ontiveros a woman DIYer standing on a step stool working on framing a doorway in an unfinished room with exposed wooden studs and insulation, wearing a pink sweater and glasses.

HERE’S THE STORY

In 2019, my husband and I bought our first townhome and accidentally got into home renovation. My husband already had some construction knowledge, I’ve always been pretty crafty, and after watching one too many home renovation YouTube videos, I confidently thought to myself… how hard could it be?

Fast forward a few years, and we sold our first flip in 2023. Now we’re in our second home, renovating it room by room while I document the entire process online (including the good, bad, and messy).

Outside of renovating, I’m also a part-time perinatal mental health therapist and a part-time stay-at-home mom. My busy life explains why my approach to DIY is very realistic. I know what it feels like to be overwhelmed and short on time or stuck in decision fatigue.

Follow along as I renovate my home, while raising my family in the beautiful state of Utah.
